Update from Administrator – May 21, 2021

Dear Family Members and Responsible Parties,

I hope this email finds you well and ready for a nice week-end.

Covid-19 Update

Each Thursday we receive an update on the County Positivity Rating. Yesterday we were informed that Fairfield County’s rating is 2.0%. Since some of our staff travel from area counties, we keep track of those numbers as well. Hartford County’s rating is 1.8% and New Haven County’s rating is 1.9%. These ratings cover the time periods of April 28th through May 11th of this year. All counties in CT are in the Green Zone.

Newtown Rehabilitation and Health Care Center remains Covid-free. There are no positive cases of Covid-19 reported among staff or residents. Thank you for helping us keep our residents and staff safe. Please know we appreciate every effort you make.

Visitation

There have been no significant changes to the visitation requirements from the previous email.  A mask still needs to be worn by anyone entering the building. Temperatures still need to be taken and the Covid-19 Questionnaire still needs to be completed. Our thanks to all of you for your attentiveness and cooperation in keeping our facility safe for our residents and staff.

Pet Therapy

The pet therapy program will resume at our facility in the near future. I am certain our residents will truly enjoy visits by the therapy dogs.

Weekly Phone Call

Our weekly phone call with Families will be held at 1:00 p.m. today.
We all look forward to speaking with you this afternoon.

Best wishes for a nice weekend.
Sincerely,
Linda A. Urbanski, Ph.D., Administrator
