CT 7.1.20 Letter to Family

July 9, 2020

Hello,

Our team and I hope this email finds you safe and healthy.

Please remember that the outdoor visits must be pre-scheduled to ensure safe and healthy visits for you, the residents, and our staff.  It also allows our team to ensure your loved one is available and ready for your visit to make the most of your time together. These visits require appropriate PPE (masks) to be worn at all times and a social distance of 6 feet between you and your loved ones for the entirety of the visit. The specific guidelines and details regarding perimeter visits can be found on our website and Facebook page. If these restrictions pose issues for you please keep in mind that we continue to offer other visitation alternatives like Facetime visits. Please remember that the perimeter visits must be pre-scheduled to ensure safe and healthy visits for you, the residents, and our staff.  You can schedule a visit by calling Lynn at 203-364-3131 or emailing at recreation@newtownrhcc.com.

We are happy to report that we are currently COVID free! As mentioned on our last Town Hall call, we have begun our 3rd round of resident and staff testing this week and all test results have returned negative and are hopeful that we will remain free of the virus. As we continue to maintain a COVID-free status, we will, hopefully, be able to reduce some restrictions under the guidance of the CDC and CT Department of Public Health.

As a reminder, our next “Town Hall” meeting is scheduled for Friday, July 10, 2020, at 1PM and we will discuss more detailed information on center updates. We encourage any residents and family members to contact us with any questions you have about the care we are offering. Our commitment is to be as transparent as possible and work to address any issues that arise. A reminder that resident-specific questions cannot be answered during these calls or on our Facebook page so please reach out to us directly if needed.

I have attached a letter from the state ombudsman which addresses the posting of staffing levels within the facility. We have continued to post these levels throughout the pandemic.

Please continue to stay safe and healthy! It is important to remember that it is still necessary to be cautious and aware that the risks of COVID-19 are still present.
