Update from Administrator – September 24, 2021

Dear Family Members and Responsible Parties,

This email is sent to provide you with an update on our Outbreak Mode status.

All residents and staff have tested negative for the Coronavirus for 14 consecutive days.

Newtown Rehabilitation is no longer in Outbreak Mode.

Visitation

The facility is open for Indoor Visits. We continue to ask that only 2 people visit at the same time in your loved one’s room. If more than 2 people arrive for a visit, the visit can be held outdoors or in the lobby. If you choose an indoor visit, please take turns visiting making sure only 2 people at a time are in your loved one’s room at the same time.

Outdoor Visits and Virtual Visits are available if you prefer not to visit indoors at this time.

Wearing of masks that cover your nose and mouth is still mandatory in all health care settings for everyone’s protection.

Compassionate Care Visits and End of Life Visits require full PPE for your protection and the protection of your loved ones.

Covid Update

There are 2 patients in our designated area to receive individuals who have tested positive for the coronavirus while in the hospital.  We expect to receive 2 additional patients later today. As stated in previous emails, these patients are sent here to recover from the coronavirus and then return home.

Influenza Vaccine

This morning we were informed that our influenza vaccines are expected to arrive the week of October 4, 2021.  The influenza vaccine will be available for residents and staff. More information will be sent out in a separate email.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding. Know we appreciate all you are doing on a daily basis to make your loved ones’ lives happy and filled with family connections.

Best wishes for a beautiful week-end.

Sincerely,
Linda A. Urbanski, Ph.D., Administrator
