Update from Administrator – September 16, 2021

Dear Family Members and Responsible Parties,

Please be advised that Newtown Rehabilitation and Health Care Center has been placed in Outbreak Mode this morning due to a fully vaccinated staff member testing positive for the Coronavirus.

All staff and residents will need to be tested until we have 14 days of no positive test results among the staff and residents.

During Outbreak Mode,  Indoor Visitation needs to stop until one round of testing has been completed. Once, the first round of testing is completed,  indoor visitation can resume on the units that do not have any residents who tested positive for the coronavirus. Indoor visitation would remain suspended on the units that have any residents who tested positive until there have been no new cases in 14 days.

Outdoor Visits do not stop during an Outbreak.

Compassionate Care Visits and End of Life Visits do not stop during an Outbreak.

Virtual Visits will continue throughout the Outbreak. Please contact Recreation at 203-426-5847 to schedule a Virtual Visit.

Please remember, if you are coming for an Outdoor Visit, please wear your mask upon entering the building, complete the questionnaire and take your temperature. Your loved one will be brought downstairs for the Outdoor Visit.

If you are coming for a Compassionate Care Visit or End of Life Visit please wear your mask upon entering the building, complete the questionnaire and take your temperature. You will be given PPE including a mask, face shield, gown and gloves for the visit. Two family members may visit your loved one at a time upstairs. If more than two family members would like to visit, one needs to remain outside until the other returns to the lobby.

Just a reminder, please go directly to your loved one’s room and do not wander throughout the building or in search of neighbors or friends, for everyone’s protection.
