Update from Administrator – November 16, 2021

Dear Family Members and Responsible Parties,

This email is sent to inform you that Newtown Rehabilitation and Health Care Center is in Outbreak Mode as of this morning due to a staff member testing positive for the Coronavirus. The staff member was fully vaccinated.

All staff and residents will be tested as part of the Outbreak protocol.

CMS revised Visitation Guidelines effective 11-12-21, indicate that while it is safer for visitors not to enter a facility during the Outbreak Investigation, visitors are still allowed in the facility. If residents would like to have a visit during the Outbreak Investigation, they should wear face coverage or masks during the visit, regardless of vaccination status and visits should occur in the resident’s room.

Virtual Visits will also be available at this time if you would prefer not to visit in person. The number to call when scheduling a Virtual Visit is 203-426-5847. Please ask for the Recreation Dept. and your Virtual Visit will be scheduled.

Compassionate Care and End of Life Visits are also available. PPE will be issued for these visits to protect the family, as well as the loved one residing in the facility.

Our Art Fair scheduled for today, has been temporarily been postponed. An email will be sent out with the new date.

Thank you for keeping all our Residents and Staff in your thoughts and prayers.

We will keep each of you in our thoughts and prayers as well.

Sincerely,
Linda A. Urbanski, Ph.D., Administrator
