Update from Administrator – May 26, 2021

Dear Family Members and Responsible Parties,

This email is sent to notify you that a staff member has tested positive for the Coronavirus. As a result, the facility has been placed in Outbreak Mode.

All staff and all residents will be tested for the Coronavirus this week and next week. All tests must return results that are negative in order for the facility to move out of Outbreak Mode and return to the in-person Visitation Schedule that has been in effect until this evening.

Visitation

As we shared often on our Friday calls, the only indoor in-person visits that are permitted during Outbreak Mode are the Compassionate Care Visits and the End of Life Visits. Any loved one who participates in Compassionate Care Visits and/or End of Life Visits is required to wear PPE including a mask, gown, gloves and face shield. As always, masks must be worn prior to entering the facility. Once inside, all PPE will be provided.

Please be advised that there has been a change to the visitation restrictions during an Outbreak.

Outdoor Visits are now permitted during an Outbreak. If you have Outdoor Visits scheduled with your loved one, please let Recreation know if you plan to attend the visit.

If you do not feel comfortable coming to the facility for an Outdoor Visit during the Outbreak, please notify Recreation. Recreation may be able to fill the time slot with another family who would like to visit.

Virtual visits using iPads, Tablets, Smart-Phones, Skype, Facetime, etc. will be available as a way to remain in communication with your loved ones. Please contact Recreation at 203-426-5847 to schedule a Virtual Visit if you don’t already have Virtual Visits pre-scheduled for this week.

Weekly Family Phone Call: Friday 1:00 pm

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. As always, I thank each of you for holding all our residents and staff in your hearts, thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Linda A. Urbanski, Ph.D., Administrator
