Update from Administrator – June 18, 2021

Dear Family Members and Responsible Parties,

A quick update—Newtown Rehabilitation and Health Care Center does not have any residents who tested positive. There also are no staff who have tested positive. A few residents who had not received their Covid-19 vaccinations due to not being in the facility when the Clinics were conducted, have been vaccinated this week. Some residents received their 2nd dose and new residents received the one dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

Yesterday, the facility held its first barbeque with live entertainment during the course of the meal. Many residents took the opportunity to eat outdoors and enjoy the food and great weather.

On June 23, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. Newtown Rehabilitation and Health Care Center will offer outdoor entertainment for residents and their family members. A Steel Drum band will kick off our summer of live entertainment programs. If you plan to attend with your loved one, please RSVP with the Recreation Department at 203-426-5847.

Compassionate Care Visits and End of Life Visits continue. We ask that you please remember to wear your mask upon entering the building. Masks, face shields, gloves and gowns will be provided once you enter the building and are screened by the receptionist. We ask that when visiting, you visit only your loved one.

Our weekly Family Call will be held at 1:00 p.m. today 6/18.

We all look forward to speaking with you today and answering any questions you may have.

Best wishes for a wonderful week-end!
