Update from Administrator – August 25, 2021

Dear Family Members and Responsible Parties,

This email is sent to inform you that Newtown Rehabilitation and Health Care Center continues to receive Hospital Patients from the area who have tested positive for Covid. Yesterday, we received 2 new patients who tested positive, and today, we will be receiving 2 new patients who tested positive. They are assigned to our quarantine unit to build up their strength prior to returning home.

Just a reminder,  when you visit, please enter the building with your mask on and keep your mask on as you walk through the building. If you would prefer, your visit with your loved ones can take place outdoors. The weather is supposed to be beautiful for the remainder of the week and I am sure your loved ones will enjoy spending time with you outside.

Recreation is still offering Virtual Visits. If you prefer to schedule a Virtual Visit, please call 203-426-5847 and ask to be connected to the Recreation Office. The staff will schedule Virtual Visits at a time convenient for you and your loved ones.

If you are participating in a Compassionate Care Visit or End Of Life Visit, you may be issued PPE that includes a gown, gloves, mask and face shield if the situation warrants complete PPE. Please put on the PPE outside your loved one’s room and take it off before leaving your loved one’s room. Used PPE is to be discarded in the refuse container as you leave your loved one’s room.

Thank you for your continued kind thoughts, understanding and heart-felt support for all the residents and staff at Newtown Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Best wishes for a nice evening.
Sincerely,
Linda A. Urbanski, Ph.D., Administrator
