Update from Administrator – April 30, 2021

Dear Family Members and Responsible Parties,

I hope this email finds you healthy and ready for a nice weekend.

Covid 19 Update

I am happy to report that our residents remain Covid free and staff who were tested this week, remain Covid free. We continue to take all PPE precautions for the purpose of keeping our residents and staff safe from exposure to the virus. We ask that families and visitors do the same upon entering the building to see your loved ones. Please continue to wear your mask, answer the Covid-19 Questionnaire, have your temperature taken, practice hand hygiene upon entering and exiting the building and keep 6 feet of social distance when with your loved ones.

Compassionate Care and End of Life Visits

For Compassionate Care and End of Life Visits, we still will distribute faceshields, gowns and gloves for anyone on our quarantine unit. Full PPE is no longer necessary when both family and residents are fully vaccinated.

If family members or friends have not been vaccinated yet, you will still need full PPE if your loved one is on the quarantine unit. Please remember after checking in at the front desk, go directly to your loved one’s room for the visit. Please do not stop at offices or the rooms of other residents whom you may have visited prior to Covid. Upon completion of the visit with your loved one, please return directly to the lobby. If you need to speak with a staff member, please ask the receptionist to page the person rather than trying to find the staff member by walking through the facility.

Recreation

Recreation programs continue with small group activities in common areas and taking residents outside as much as possible.  It is so great to see the residents out of their rooms and having fun.

The Resident Council met on Wednesday this week. The participants had really great ideas on past activities that they would like to see offered again as well as more opportunities for Live Entertainment. Upcoming entertainers will perform outdoors in the parking lots so that more residents can participate. Families also can schedule visits during Live Entertainment Performances to make the visit even more special for their loved ones. The residents were also updated about outdoor barbeques resuming once the weather permits.

Dining

Our dining rooms are open and many residents are eating in the dining rooms which allows for greater opportunities for socialization. Residents that are fully vaccinated no longer require social distancing inside or outside while sitting at tables with other fully vaccinated residents for dining or recreation activities. Our residents love eating with others in the dining rooms. There is ample time to enjoy each other’s company and have great conversations.

Weekly Phone Call

This week’s  Family Call will take place today 4/30 at 1:00 p.m.

Best wishes for a good morning.

Sincerely,

Linda A. Urbanski, Ph.D., Administrator
